In many cases we dismiss joint discomfort as “just tiredness” or “just age”. Yet arthrosis is not simply a sign of ageing. In today’s world, as a result of desk-bound work, an inactive lifestyle and old injuries, the problem has also become widespread among young people.
What is arthrosis?
Arthrosis is the gradual wear and inflammation of the cartilage tissue in the joints. Over time it makes everything harder, from climbing stairs to a simple walk.
How does a non-surgical approach work?
- Reducing pain — minimising acute pain by reducing inflammation of the joint cartilage.
- Muscle balance — strengthening the muscles around the joint to spread the mechanical load on it evenly.
- Restoring movement — restoring a stiff or restricted range of movement to support a return to an active life.
- Individual approach — preparing a rehabilitation plan suited to each patient’s condition.
If the joint does not need surgery, treatment with exercise-based rehabilitation, electrotherapy or intra-articular injections is possible. More: Joint injections, Knee pain.
Enduring the pain and giving up on quality of life is not the answer.
