What is tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)?
A problem characterised by pain on the outer side of the elbow. Despite its name, it is not limited to tennis players — it can occur in anyone who frequently repeats the same movements.
- Pain on the outer side of the elbow
- Weakness when gripping objects
- Discomfort and pain with wrist movements
Treatment: electrotherapy, shockwave therapy (ESWT, FSWT) and, if needed, a steroid or PRP injection into the painful area.
What is golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis)?
A problem characterised by pain on the inner side of the elbow. It usually develops when tendons are damaged by repetitive hand and wrist movements; there may be elbow pain, reduced grip strength and discomfort during movement.
Treatment: shockwave therapy (ESWT, FSWT), an elbow brace, electrotherapy and exercises, and local injections (steroid, PRP and others).
What is carpal tunnel syndrome?
Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by compression of the median nerve at the wrist. Symptoms include numbness, pins and needles, pain and weakness in the hand and fingers. It is especially common in people who work at a computer for long periods and in those who make repetitive hand movements.
Diagnosis: alongside clinical examination, one of the most commonly used methods is EMG.
Treatment: electrotherapy methods, exercises that strengthen and relax the muscles, and a resting hand splint (wrist support).
What is tenosynovitis?
Caused by repetitive movements or overload, this condition produces pain, swelling and discomfort with movement in the wrist and hand. Without timely intervention the risk of restricted movement increases; with early diagnosis and the right physiotherapy, pain can be reduced and recovery can be faster.
