Biography

Dr. Aghalar Javadov was born in Neftchala, Azerbaijan, in 1986. After graduating from Azerbaijan State Medical University (2004–2010), Dr. Javadov completed specialty training and compulsory service in the cardiology department of Neftchala City Central Hospital (2010–2013), and from 2013 to 2017 specialised in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.

The following years brought work in the physical therapy and rehabilitation departments of Yeni Huzur Tıp Merkezi (2018–2019) and Mediland Hospital in Baku (2018–2025, as a consultant physician). Since 2019 Dr. Javadov has worked at Atlas University Hospital in Istanbul, and since August 2025 also at Atlas University Faculty of Medicine. Since December 2025 the doctor has headed the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department at the Babək branch of Baku Medical Plaza.

The work covers the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of bone, muscle, joint and nervous system disorders.

  • Under ultrasound guidance: musculoskeletal examination, intra-articular and peritendinous injections, intramuscular botulinum toxin and peripheral nerve blocks

Approach

Each treatment plan is built for the individual patient. The same symptom can have different causes in different people, so physiotherapy procedures are chosen for the patient’s clinical condition, contraindications are taken into account, and progress is monitored regularly so the programme can be updated when needed.

A comparison of the effectiveness of manual therapy and of sacroiliac and lumbar exercises in sacroiliac dysfunction. Thesis advisors: Prof. Dr. Cihan Aksoy (president of the Turkish Manual Therapy Association) and Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Ketenci (former president of the Turkish Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation). The randomised controlled trial based on the thesis was published in the international journal Pain Physician.
