What is a heel spur?
Sharp heel pain with the first steps in the morning is no accident — it is a signal from your body. Standing for long periods, excess weight and unsuitable footwear can make it worse.
Treatment:
- Silicone shoe insoles
- Shockwave therapy (ESWT, FSWT)
- Electrotherapy and specific exercises
- If the symptoms do not ease — a steroid injection or surgery
What are flat feet?
With flat feet, the arch of the foot collapses so that almost the whole sole touches the ground. It may look like a simple problem at first, but if left untreated it can set off a chain reaction in the body and cause various complaints:
- Foot pain and tiring quickly
- Pain in the knees, hips and lower back
- Gait problems
- Some orthopaedic problems as body weight increases
- A higher risk of spinal curvature (scoliosis)
Flat feet in children also need attention: if not assessed in time, they can affect the alignment of the knees, pelvis and spine, leading to postural problems and pain in the lower and upper back.
Treatment: specific physiotherapy and exercises on the advice of a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, together with supinators — custom shoe insoles made for the patient.
What is tendinitis?
Tendinitis is inflammation of the tendons that makes everyday movement difficult. Standing for long periods, overload and unsuitable footwear are among the main causes. If you feel pain, swelling and difficulty moving when you walk, see a specialist without delay.
Treatment: electrotherapy, shockwave therapy (ESWT, FSWT), specific exercises and, in some cases, injections (steroid, PRP, prolotherapy and others).
